Grand Bears for a Grand Night 2006!
Thirteen Grand Bears were created to raise funds for Cancer Research! The bears were all based on characters from the 2006 theatrical productions and each one was dressed in a costume fashioned from the same materials that the actors wore on stage!
Of those bears, two were donated by local Teddy Bear artists, Karen Waschinski and Sue Gueguen. These two bears, Nancy and Oliver from the production "Oliver!", were raffled while the eleven others were auctioned!
The event was a great success and many thanks to everyone who participated!
Coriolanus, the lovely black bear in gold attire, brought in a high bid of $800 at the live auction during the Grand Night event! The ten other auctioned bears all went to their new homes for no less than $300 a piece! Wow!
Thank you! And what a Grand Night it was!
Here's hoping for more bears next year!
